5.7 to 392 intake manifold swap?

Has anyone looked in to this? I found one thread from some time ago saying it would be difficult on a 6.1 for clearance reasons, but that there were rpm switches that could be used with the active intake to make them function with tuning to account for the air and fuel changes.

I am very intrested in the active intake design, as I know they used it on the 5.7 powerd trucks and now the 392 in the past to build better torque down low. Would be killer to get that affect on the r/t.

Will be very intersted to see how this goes. Are you going to use a rpm switch to activate the active bits in the runners? Will you be tuning for it, if so just WOT, or withva cmr to do the closed loop tables too?

What other parts did you get for this? I assume fuel rails and such maybe? I know those were needed when switching to the 6.1 manifold.

Take pictures when you do it for the reset of us!

I will be using a RPM switch and will be tuning for both part and full throttle. Will do on the pics.

If you plan on stroking your 5.7 go with a ported 6.1 intake instead. A 5.7 based stroker to a 392 is a whole different animal compared to a factory 6.4 392. The blocks are completely different, so there's no need for Apache heads or a 392 manifold. The 6.1 intake is a beast with the 5.7 once you start doing aggressive mods.
