just finished installing our getrag dif in our 2010 rt the rear was out of an 09 rt 6 speedcar 3.92s and an lsd. we bought the axles new from dodge as well as the driveshaft coupler and the pink bolts totaling around $450 bucks or so. took us about 4 hours to do the swap but if i could make one recommendation to make the swap alot easier it would be to drill two holes in the spare tire well to access the mounting bolts on the dif. that would make it so that you dont have to lower the rear subframe, we didnt do it but if i was to do it again i def. would. the cars drivablity is much better then it was and the converter works excellent with it. hoping to pick up a .5 or so at the track but hopefully i will be able to get some new track times next week.

Hell Yea ! A great mod. Get rid of the peg Leg. Man, those are some lows gears for the auto. Im sticking with the 3:06 I like only 3 speeds and cross at 6000 at 119mph
Make easy highway cruzin too. The more a trans shifts, the more time it takes.JMO
Why a 2 speed Glide is used for real fast cars. One shift.
Post up the details, Im eager to see how it does at the track. Just the LSD is a big help. Good Luck

same hear. would like to hear times. thinking about going with the 3.73 for my auto. also, how long does it stay in 1st and 2nd gear? approx what rpm are you turning going 60 mph on the highway?

we should have track times friday night. car works awesome, cant wait to hit the track im thinking 12.30s or so. it turns about 3k running 70. mileage suffered some but its well worth it. also downloaded the new updates from diablo if u havent done it yet make sure u do. allows u to change shift points and rev limiter.

Please keep us posted with the track times. I have not been to the track since my cam install and I am considering the gear swap too. Anxious to know how it does for you.

Count me in too as someone that's very interested in the track results from this swap. Back when I was running older muscle cars we used to swap gears in the 8 and 3/4 rear fairly frequently, as you just had to change the center pumkin. I kept everything from 2.76 to 4.56 with most all the ratio's in between. Cruising down the highway with those 4.56 gears was a little ruff though LOL, you constantly wanted to shift but had no more gears to go to.

Lurch, That was a good drop in et with the gear change. I keep going back and fourth in the mind. I know what the objective is, just having a hard time making the plunge. What gear and what rpm you crossing at 1/4 mi Lurch ?
I need another center section,, just so I can make changes as I want, is what Id really like, haveing a few flavors to play with be cool.
Anyone try a 3:23 or 3:55 gears yet, with an auto ? justwondering

To be honest I dont remember but I know @ 80 mph now its 3050 rpm's was 2450.
It only hurt my MPG 2.5 now I'm getting about 21.5/22 @ 80 mph. Its the best thing I've done to my car. Next I hope to do a converter and pick up another half sec. or so.
Hope this helps some, LURCH!!!!!!!

also we drove on the highway the other day got 23mpg so it suffered a little bit but well worth it. car is an absolute blast to drive. roll into first gear and when u click it into second it will haze the tires all the way through second. ready to throw some race gas in.

1quikr/t On your origional post you mention doing holes in the tire well for axcess to the center section bolts. YEP ! found 1 1/4 hole saw worked great. Made is soooo much easyer, being mine will be in and put a few times.
Got 2 rubber plugs from the salavage yard to fit perfect. Looks factory.

i figured it would save at least an hour on the job, dropping the rear subframe is kind of a pain. if we didnt have a lift at the house it would have been a really difficult thing to do with jackstand placement and such. good to hear my info helped someone

went to the track tonight air was garbage and the race gas we tried seemed to work against us, we used the vp with the added oxygen the car felt flat tonight went 12.72@105 60ft was better and so was the 1/8th just seemed flat out the back. second pass blew the tires off due to complete morons at the track. not the best night for testing. gonna try again next week with just some 100oct and hope for better air. also having tune issues with the 1-2 shift, sometimes crashing into the rev limiter sometimes going into limp mode

Looking forward to hearing your results. I used 16 oz of Torco addative with 10 gallons of 93 octance gas last week, that seemed to work well. A few weeks prior to that I put a gallon and a half of the 112 octane gas from the track in the tank with approx 8 gallons of 93 and that seemed to work well too.

Limp mode

With the 3:92 and no predator tune rasing the rev limiter, shift points or changing to MTCM you're going to hit the Rev limiter and go into Limp mode. Been there. I changed out the TCM to a MTCM fixed the problem car shifts at 6200 and revs to 6800 RPM. Now the new predator update will allow you to raise the rev limiter and shift points. Hope this helps.

idk of anyone that would turn a 5.7 6800, with your 392 no doubt but the 5.7s have valvetrain issues when u start going much over 6k

we have a predator, raised shift points, sometimes doesnt even get to the 1-2 shift and goes into limp mode. if the car spins the tires in goes into neutral... shut if off then in limp mode read codes, says there are none. clear the imaginary codes and runs fine.. we need a tcm

Hey guys, not to change the subject at all, but could someone please tell me how I can tell if I have the getrag unit in my car or not. Wanted to upgrade axles but wasn't sure if I have the getrag or non getrag to order from DSS. It is a 2010 RT Classic 6 speed. If there is anything I can look for to tell me if I have it or just the description above will work I would appreciate the help.

6 speed cars rt or srt all have getrag units in them, if you have an srt auto or stick they have a getrag, the only one that uses something different is the auto rt.
