I like real CF looks. Yes CF scratches and gets swirl marring on it but it can be buffed out back to perfection just like swirled marks in your clear coat paint. Real CF is tough and look excellent and will show wear over time but is easily brought back to life.

Is this real real carbon fiber? I went to a dealer to see it, and the touch feels cheap, like a cheap plastic... so, is it real carbon fiber?
The press release reads "Optional Carbon Fiber bezels packaged with Dynamica suede headliner on all V-8 models " Source

A randomly found window sticker reads "Real Carbon Fiber Interior Accents" Source

Given those statement I think it would be tough to deliver fake carbon fiber. Starts flirting with lawsuit / class action territory. And for the price point, there is no reason not to have the real stuff.

I'm guessing you haven't spent much time around CF...or reading titles of threads ;)

But the additional pics are appreciated.

I went there looking for a challenger, but only that Charger had the Carbon and Suede Interior Package. It looks good, but I touched it and it feels cheap. I have seen another CF parts in BMW and it feels different. Anyway, it looks much better than the default dashboard and center console bezel.

🤣🤣😉😉😉

I went there looking for something like this:

^ Very, very nice.

I'm willing to bet BMW CF is both a higher grade w/a more refined finish than what you might find in FCA products...is sort of apples v oranges in terms of product class (i.e. expense).

Either way I 100% agree the CF option is better 'looking' than the normal bezel in Challenger BUT as many have said here, might not be worth the $. Personal choice at the end of the day.

....Personal choice at the end of the day.
I recently bought my wife a new Grand Cherokee, and now it is my turn to get a new vehicle. The dash and design is very similar to the Challenger. What appeals to me about the carbon fiber is it will set the Challenger apart from her vehicle. You are spot on - 100% personal choice.

I've watched a fair amount of Challenger Youtube videos, and the bench racing is always entertaining. I am just waiting for some genius to comment "Yeah, bro, if I had the carbon fiber dash panels I would be able to beat that car in a street race".

that trim in the Charger has a more matte finish that what I've seen in the 50th Anniversary (has copper color weave) version or the 2020 Challenger CF option.

all CF have a clear / resin topcoat since raw CF can fray without a top coat, so it would feel 'plastic'

Sometime in the future when we can get out and about again - I'll probably see some of these

Thanks for the explanation, it is good to know about the resin topcoat. That makes sense!

Does anybody know if Dodge will change the Challenger design for 2021? It would be a shame due this design is beautiful... 🥺
the '21 models will be the same body style as the '20.

Model year will change over ~ Nov '20 for MY 2021 (edited)

Carbon fiber has many "types"

I forgot this was new for 2020, in case anyone's interested here's a few pics featuring my greasy fingerprints and all:

Generally not a big CF fan but I do like how this looks, has some nice depth to it. If you're on the fence about the CF option - do it !

I like that...ALOT, but I'm kind of a carbon fiber freak!

As far as the carbon fiber being better in a BMW than in our Dodge's, A Guy's post is correct in that while there are quite a few different carbon fabrics available, the most common one for automotive use is 2x2 3k twill. That's what the Dodge one is and I'm pretty sure that's what most manufacturers use. Sometimes they'll look different because of the clear coat finish and if it's been vacuum bagged or put in an autoclave oven and other things that have an effect on the final product.

The Dodge stuff in the pictures is actually pretty nicely done. I'd put it in Ruby except that it probably would cost a fortune and it's not worth it to me because of the price (I'm cheap :D ).
