2021 Scat Pack M6 - Any way to keep Sport Mode as the default setting? I've been having to reset it to Sport Mode every time I start it - thanks!

I asked the same thing recently and was told that it can be done. But I haven't tried yet.
I will today and post it if I am successful.

Cannot be done as far as I know with the factory equipment, maybe a Tazer or some other device can accomplish it but don't know

It would probably run afoul of some EPA rule as then everyone could easily bypass the default setting so FCA wouldn't do it.

OK, the answer is both yes and no.
In Auto (default) mode, you can select either Sport or Track mode for steering and suspension instead of Normal if you want to.
Traction Control is Normal Mode only in Auto Mode. If you try to go to Sport or Track it tells you to go to Custom Mode.
There is no reference as to how any of this affects the Active Exhaust Valves. Which is the main reason I change it when I get in.
I will do a sound test in the various modes and post if I can get the AEV's to stay open in Auto Mode.

Unfortunately with the newer setup you don't have a button anymore. With my new TA I have to navigate through the touch screen to get to the performance settings just to activate "Sport" or "track" etc.. My old '18 SP just had a button on the console. It's a little bit of a pain that way.

Tazer - Startup Drive Mode: Like driving in Sport or Track mode every time you get in your car? Tazer can set the startup drive mode for you, so you don’t need to switch modes every time you get in the car.

One thing I've noticed on my SPWB. I've NOT been turning the MDS off because I wanted to see the effect on gas mileage. The bottom line is, my mpg is the same with or without it, so no way am I going to leave it on.

As A Guy stated, Tazer will provide the ability to start in Sport Mode or any other mode. I have my 2016 Scat Pack set to start in sport mode. Tazer is a great value for 2015 & 2016 Scat Packs because it provides access to feature that were standard on SRT's but not available on Scat Packs. On newer Challengers one would need to review the Tazer features to determine if they justify the cost.

FWIW I don't believe the tazer has to be married to the car in order to use the sport and TC disable at start-up, it just has to be plugged in as it is a "live" function. So there is no modification to the BCM, hence I don't think using it in this manner would void your warranty. BTW the default setting on tazer is the sport and TC disable at start-up.

on the A8 models it makes the throttle rather touchy - I suspect that if there were different drivers:

one uses in standard mode (say this is the spouse) and the other would use Sport mode

if the driver that isn't accustomed to Sport mode (for engine / trans) got in - they might get a lot more throttle than they expect...and run into something

I did some testing on this. Custom does not do the same thing as sport or track. Car seems quieter and the throttle response does not change in custom from what I see. You can change the suspension steering and traction on manual 6. If I want some noise or throttle response which i like i have to select sport mode or track mode. Seems like custom only changes the values you can see on the screen from my testing.

On my 21' SPWB M6 in Custom Mode with steering, traction and suspension set to Track, the AEV's are definitely open all the time.
Very easy to tell switching back and forth to Normal Mode.
Maybe it's the option packages I have?

In sport mode the TSC is turned off, so beware of that. I used to have my custom mode have TSC off, until I almost lost it going left from a stop while spinning the rear wheels. If I get into trouble by losing traction for whatever reason, the TSC steps in. It's the only "nanny" mechanism I typically leave on.

I thought you still have TSC in Sport Mode.
Only Track Mode defeats it entirely.
From the drive Modes Supplement:
Sport Mode is a configuration set-up for typical
enthusiast driving. The Transmission and
Steering are both set to their Sport settings. The
steering wheel Paddle switches are enabled.
Traction Control defaults to Normal.

Oops, that's for the 1320 Drag Mode.
Here is for the Scat:
 SPORT
Press the Sport button on the touchscreen to
turn off traction control and reduce stability

Looks like around $300 with the double bypass

Is there any way you can screw up the car with this? I see lots of other things one can do like open windows using remote. Most important feature I would think would be to be able to start 8 spd. auto Challenger in performance mode or out of that multi-displacement mode so that the engine does not prematurely wear out.

I have no personal experience, but it doesn't make permanent changes like a Tune can

2018 and above vehicles are equipped with a new device called a security gateway module. The purpose of this module is to prevent CAN bus hacking over the 3G or LTE network. It also prevents access from the OBD-II port by anything other than the dealer diagnostic tools. The double bypass gives you a 2nd OBD-II port to connect the Tazer (and other OBD-II devices) to
