I was driving on the interstate when I saw the car in front of me jerk to the shoulder, as I looked to move out the way, I noticed a car on my left lane, and the right shoulder occupied. I slowed down as much as possible before running over what seemed to pieces of a torn wheel. I then pulled over to my surprised that my tires did not blow up, I finished ripping off the underguard (engine underneath cover) as it was already dragging and left having by a single clip. I didn’t see no initial damage decided to drive it home and inspect it there.
Once I got home the pictures included is what I saw. Seems like it’s the subframe tearing it’s a 2021 dodge challenger 1320 I will be getting it towed to the dealership and hope for the best. Any previous mechanics know if this is cover by warranty or if it’s even work that the dealership will fix ?

That's a solid hit. I'm a bit surprised the airbags did not deploy. It will need to go on a frame rack to get measured.

any higher object would have taken out radiator and oil pan

that's at least a k-member replacement

CarFax reporting is optional in Tennessee, and apparently in some other states. As one body shop told me (the truck ended up being totaled), I can report it myself, but not sure why I would want to do so...

I would still gladly take the reporting hit on value over paying for the entire repair out of pocket.

This damage requires professional repair.

As stated this is an insurance claim. You may want to check with your insurance company to see if they have shops that you have to work with before you have the dealership begin work on it. Some insurance companies box you into their preferred repair shops.

Was it still driving straight? I'm surprised it wasn't pulling to the side that was damaged.

I hit a big rock (after swerving off of the freeway) once and it damaged that subframe and it had to be replaced, along with a bunch of suspension/steering components for a total cost of $26k (insurance claim) back in 2019. It will most likely not worth trying to fix it yourself and just doing an insurance claim but be prepared to take a big hit on the value of the car. It was my engine cradle which you can see here but there was a lot more. They find it all when they take it apart...

Sorry to hear but glad youre okay.
My 2 pennies... I hate driving in traffic, especially when other cars sit side by side and bumper to bumper. It makes avoiding other cars or even road debris dangerous and nearly impossible to avoid.
Good luck with things!
