Excuse my ignorance but how can orange and red be the same color? I'll admit I'm not that knowledgeable on the older models but I really don't see how they could have ever been the same color. Hemi Orange is about as orange as you can get.

Plum Crazy is a name of a color... however, the plum crazy we see today is totally different than the color of plum crazy we saw back in the day...

Uh, no it's not. It's the exact same color as the original.

 

Been wondering this myself. I used to own a 1971 Plymouth Duster that was Tor Red and like you said it was the equivalent of Dodge's Hemi Orange. Now Tor Red is, well, red.

 

Interesting, I didn't even know that! I will say that in the right light, Hemi orange can take on a reddish hue... Tor red Cudas...

 

yes the classic HO/TorRed was the same color...guess for todays buyers they wanted a different shade for both while retaining both names...dunno

 

The current TorRed name was used for it's historic value only and like other have said has nothing to do with the original.

They should have used Rallye Red - that name was used back in the day for the color red.

??? Been saying that since 2009 but ..... They here Hemi Orange and think they have a original type color and couldnt be more wrong.They just bought into the Marketing BS that Dodge started Hemi Orange ohh wow lol

In the 70's same paint code, ever see a TorRed car ?? depends on light mine will look Orange just like the 70's TorRed/Hemi Orange.
