Took the challenger out for a spin and throttle hangs like crazy...you can take your foot off the gas and it will maintain 40mph. Only things I changed in the tune two days ago was idle settings and the engine still refuses to idle at 650mph. Seriously some goofy sh!t going on. I am going to set every idle setting to 700mph and see if it finally behaves...I will also revert back to a previous beta version of VCM editor to see if this changes things as well.
Do you think recompiling the tune could help. Maybe there is a conflict with the new version of HP Tuner and the exhusting tune?

RPMs would hang around 2000rpm when the car was moving and clutch pedal in. As soon as the car was stopped the RPMs would climb back down. Cruising with foot off the pedal in 5th with maintain 40mph...kind of like a cruise control. I updated HP to the latest beta (looks like they changed things over the weekend) and reverted the idle settings back to what I had and no more hang. Never had this happen before on the tune that had my idle as low as 600rpm. That will learn me for f'ing with stuff that was not broken.

oh okay I thought the orignial tune was created on one version of the software then the updates were made with the newer version so I was thinking maybe the tune would have to be completely rescanned into the newer bata version then make the changes. Minor glitch in the code between the 2 versions.

My car would sometimes hang on a fresh tune but after driving for 5-10 minutes it would fix itself

Yes, yes it will...

Well I think I know why the RPMs won't drop and why I am still getting some throttle hang...my oil/air separator is leaking. How do I know this? Well I noticed oil residue was dripping on the #8 header tube and I plugged the PCV tube to the SC intake and idle dropped to ~650 rpm. Thought it was the valve cover seal but if it was it would be way worse. Looks like I need to pull the valve cover off and re-gasket the area between the air/oil separator and cover.

if you have to pull the valve cover -

undo the ground strap and unplug the harnesses from the PCM - then you can move those harnesses to access the pass side rocker cover bolts and r & r the valve cover w/o the clearance issues and knocking the gasket loose.

did you get the cast aluminum rocker covers? they look great, but its $$$ for those

I swear everytime I pull the passenger valve cover I have to do it a second time cuz the rocker bolt catches the gasket.

The A2speed valve covers are aluminum. Reason I got them was for the air/oil separator...tired of draining catch can. I do disconnect all the cabling along with the evap tube but even with all that done I still need to intall the air oil separator after installing the valve cover... not enough room to install without hitting the firewall cowl.

Yup, the passenger side is a pita especially if the gasket does not fit in the valve cover groove well. If you roll a seal you will find out real quite as the oil will hit the exhaust...smoke city.

Yea I've seen that smoke too many times, so much it doesn't even worry me anymore and I already know what it is

Super glad to find out you figured out the rpm issue. Now the fix will be the fun part. Thanks for keeping this one updated.

I should have known better than to seal with RTV instead of finding the correct size o-ring. The whole air/oil separator is held on by 1 screw which also looks like it also backed out...the whole assembly wiggles around. I am going to see if I can assemble it an then put the valve cover on but I doubt I can. This is why I keep an extra set of valve cover seals around. :)

blue loctite on that screw!

when you get all the harnesses out of the way - it makes putting the rocker cover back on as easy as the driver's side - trust me on that one. its worth the investment of time to fold those harnesses back out of the way
