I highly doubt it is normal but I wanted to just check with others that are familiar with our cars.
For several months I've had this weird howl/whine noise. It only starts at about 55-60mph and only does it when the gas is pressed down. Dealer has replaced my rear differential twice and the noise has not gone away. The longer I drive the loud the noise gets and it's gotten louder compared to when it first started several months back. If I am just driving on normal city streets it doesn't make the sound at all. It's not unless I'm up to speed in 5'th and 6th gear.
This is the video after a 2 hour drive after picking up my son. This was taken the day after getting my car back from the dealer stating it's a normal sound. It's me going from a stop and slowly increasing speed. The noise kicks in about 12 seconds in which is about when I hit 60mph. The video doesn't do justice on how loud the sound actually is.
I've heard several things from others on Facebook from me just needing to change out Transmission fluid to it being something with a carrier joint etc. At this point the dealer said they are done with it since a Chrysler Field Tech has officially declared the noise as a regular operating noise. So now I'm left figuring it out by myself (I live in Iowa so the next nearest Dodge dealer is a little ways away). My car is completely stock aside from Blastin Bobs resonator delete. The sound was present prior to be installing that though so I highly doubt it's exhaust related.
